We will not start a blog…we will not start a blog…oh well here goes. We are Tony, Katie, and Gus and we decided to buy a motorhome, rent our house in upstate NY, and hit the road living out of it full-time. Katie works as a physical therapist and will be taking travel contracts along the way. Tony stepped away from his bartending job in Ithaca, NY and will search for gigs here and there while on the road.
This website was created at the behest of family and friends who wanted a way to keep up to speed on our travels, whereabouts, and most importantly how our pug/chihuahua (chug) mix, Gus, is faring. Hence, Wandergus was born! Our hopes with this site is to force ourselves to document this once in a lifetime journey, stay connected with family and friends, and hopefully provide some insight into travel physical therapy and the RV lifestyle for those that wish to follow (learn from our mistakes I’m sure they will be plentiful).
We bought a used 2014 Tiffin Allegro 36LA from Davis Motorhome Mart in Memphis, Tennessee. Click Here to learn more about our selection process and why we chose this particular model. It is a gas powered motorhome with a ford V-10 engine and is 36’10” long, 8’4 wide and nearly 12’10 tall and has two slide rooms that push out to give us around 350-375 square feet of living space. Click here to take a full tour of our new home. Behind the RV we flat tow (all 4 wheels stay on the ground) a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox AWD with a blue ox tow bar/base plate/patriot braking system, click for a more in depth look at our towing setup.
